New Ipad overly hot? Most tests say no.

The new iPad (right) reached temperatures of 116 degrees Fahrenheit (47 degrees Celsius) after 45 minutes of running an intense action game, or up to 13 degrees F (8 degrees C) hotter than the previous iPad (left) under similar conditions, according to a test run by Consumer Reports.

Recent tests conducted by Consumer Reports suggest that the new iPad runs hotter than its predecessor. But further tests by other publications — who struggled to replicate the heat levels observed by Consumer Reports — point out that this particular result doesn't necessarily mean that the device is overly hot.

Based on Consumer Reports' tests, the new iPad hits temperatures of up to 116 degrees Fahrenheit after about 45 minutes of running an intense-action game. This is up to 14 degrees F warmer than the iPad 2 will run under similar conditions, according to the publication.

New Sony Camcorder

Mountain bikers, hikers and other adventurers wishing to record their outings on video now have another camcorder at their disposal – Sony’s Bloggie Sport HD. It’s a ruggedized (yes, that’s a word) version of the company’s existing Bloggie camera, and continues with the line’s smartphone-like form, which includes a 2.7-inch touchscreen display.

The Sport model records 1080p video, and can also capture 5.1-megapixel stills – even while shooting video. It has a dust-proof casing, is waterproof to 16 feet (4.9 meters), and is sufficiently shock-proof to survive drops from heights of up to five feet (1.5 m). It has 4GB of built-in memory, which allows for the storage of up to two hours of full HD footage.

One of the camera’s more interesting features is its Underwater Mode. This automatically adjusts the white balance when shooting underwater, to compensate for the manner in which the red and green spectra of the sunlight are absorbed by the water. This filtering of the sunlight is what causes underwater footage to have a bluish tinge (if artificial lights aren’t used), and is traditionally addressed by attaching an amber filter to the lens.

Other features include SteadyShot image stabilization, a flip-out USB connector, a built-in LED light for shooting in dark environments, and Face Detection technology.

iPad 3 Debut Could Include Low-Cost, 8GB iPad 2

 The latest rumers regarding the debut of the Ipad 3 on March 7th, 2012 is that it could mean a big drop in price for the Ipad 2. The Apple iPad 3, according to the latest rumors, will come in two versions, 16GB or 32GB. Which points to information from upstream supply chain sources. Less expected, the report adds that Apple‚ during its scheduled March 7 event, will also introduce an 8GB version of the iPad 2, to help it "defend against Windows 8-based tablet PCs."In a separate March 1 report, the Taipei-based DigiTimes added that Apple has lowered the price of both iPad 2 models by $50, to $450 and $550—though as of 11 a.m. in New York, the price on the Apple site had yet to budge—and that the 8GB iPad will retail for between $349 and $399, a price that "should place even more pressure on non-Apple tablet PC players."Apple's tablet empire has inspired a market full of knockoffs and thoughtfully inspired designs, both categories of which have nearly all run Android. While the iPad continues to dominate, pricing has been a main determinant among non-Apple devices, with the fire sale of Hewlett-Packard's $99 TouchPad causing such a frenzy that HP was actually made to turn back on the conveyor belts and build more, in order to meet sales promises.Over the holiday season, Amazon enjoyed significant sales with its relatively low-priced Kindle Fire—low, at $199, relative to tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which as of January ranged from $530 to $630, or the Motorola Xoom, which in December ranged from $530 to $730. An extensive analysis of Apple's invitation to its March 7 event, by a number of sites, suggests the iPad 3 may also do away with its home button and that Apple may also introduce Apple TV 3 at the event. The teasing lines on the Apple invite: "We have something you really have to see. And touch."
